"Maple Beer, Take Two"

Makes five gallons

Ingredients:
.5 gallons dark maple syrup
2 pounds 2-row pale malt
2 pounds Munich malt
2.5 oz Cascade whole hops, 6.8% aa
Wyeast American Ale yeast
1 cup dried malt extract (bottling)

Starting specific gravity: 1.042
Ending specific gravity: 1.007
Estimated percent alcohol: 4.6%

Recipe Notes:
Single infusion mash @ 155F for 30 minutes
2 oz Cascade @ 60 minutes
.5 oz Cascade @ 30 minutes
Mash efficiency sucked again.
Comments:
Very complete fermentation- the maple syrup at work.
Interesting beer.  Bitter, not in a good way, but the maple
flavor is very noticeable in the aftertaste.  A good first try, will return
to maple syrup at a later date.
